Are you a young mom who is:
- Age 13 to 19
- Wanting to complete your high school education
- Currently pregnant, or
- Raising children between newborn and three-years-old?
You could benefit from joining Growing Together, a program that provides young mothers with high quality childcare and outreach support.
How the Program Works
Growing Together operates out of Guildford Park Secondary School and serves young mothers who choose to enroll there. The program has three age-designated playrooms that are equipped with age-appropriate toys. Solid food and diapers are provided, though you are asked provide formula for each day. The program is facilitated by caring, knowledgeable staff members who are licensed in Early Childhood Education, First Aid and Food Safe. An outreach worker offers support to families attending the program.
A Public Health Nurse from the Fraser Health Authority also visits twice per week to provide immunizations and answers to any health-related questions about motherhood and babies.
Please note: To have your daycare fees paid by the Ministry of Children and Family Development, you must apply for Child Care Subsidy. In most cases, there is no cost for you to attend.
This program is funded by Surrey Schools and the Ministry of Children and Family Development, and operated by Options Community Services.
