Re-C.Y.C.L.E.Who this program is forThis program is for students interested in learning bike maintenance and repair skills. This program is part of the OPTIONS for Schools program. Program ObjectiveTo provide at-risk youth from low-income families the opportunity to earn their own bicycle while learning practical bike maintenance and repair skills. Program DescriptionThe Re-C.Y.C.L.E. Project is designed to re-engage at-risk youth of completely disengaging from the school system and/or community supports. The goal of the project is to give the participants an opportunity for success and a new set of skills applicable to their future. Participants will complete a hands-on training course in basic bicycle mechanics. Qualified instructors will lead students through a curriculum that covers all aspects of bike mechanics, tools, safety and good work habits. In addition to completing the training program, youth will have the opportunity to do volunteer hours towards earining a bike that they have reconditioned themselves. Program Location
