2019 Christmas Hamper Fund

A huge Thank You to everyone who contributed to the 2019 Christmas Hamper Fund!

Cash donations ranged anywhere from¬†$5.00 to $3,000. Every dollar counted and together ‚Äď what a difference we made! Thanks to your incredible generosity and support; 182 children, 73 families and 3 individuals in the Surrey region will have a brighter Christmas.

In addition to cash donations, just a few of the items gratefully accepted and distributed were brand new toys, knitted items including blankets, scarves and toques, socks, gloves and gift cards.

We wish you and your family the very best this Holiday Season and look forward to working with you more in the 2020!

We would like to celebrate the amazing accomplishments of some of the women that work here at Options Community Services! 

 

Congratulations to our very own Executive Director, Christine Mohr on recently being nominated for the nationally recognized 2019 YWCA Women of Distinction Awards! YWCA Women of Distinction Awards honours individuals and organizations whose outstanding activities and achievements contribute to the well-being and future of our community.  Winners will be announced May 13th, 2019.  

 

Congratulations to Monika Verma (our new Senior Manager of Immigrant Services).. and to Kamaljit Kaur Lehal (Vice Chair on our Board of Directors) for being recipients of the 2019 Shakti Awards! The Shakti Awards were founded by Sonia Andhi in an effort to recognize the work and efforts of women in our community. 

 

Heather Lynch, manager of our Youth Services Department, was nominated in 2018 and again in 2019 for the Surrey Women in Business Awards.  The five categories for these awards are Entrepreneur, Professional, Not-for-Profit Leader, Corporate/Leadership and Social Trailblazer.  Congratulations Heather on being recognized in the not-for-profit category for your ongoing leadership and inspiration in our community.
