We’re pleased to have participated in the Province of BC’s Budget 2027 Consultation, contributing our frontline experience to the broader conversation on addictions and recovery services.

As part of the consultation, Options Community Services shared insights from our Home-Based Detox Program and advocated for continued investment in addictions and recovery services.

Drawing on input from consultation participants, the Select Standing Committee on Finance and Government Services reflected on the importance of accessing addictions care close to home and existing support networks. Its final recommendations include Recommendation 29: fund and prioritize high-barrier detoxification, addiction, and mental health treatment beds, a recommendation that aligns with the needs and priorities we shared through our presentation.

We’re proud to bring what we see and learn through our work in the community to provincial conversations that help inform discussions about the future of mental health, substance use, and recovery services in BC.
