Our Community Connections Program offers a range of programs and services that support immigrant and refugee newcomers in Surrey and Delta on their journey to becoming active and engaged members of their new community.
Free English Classes
We offer interactive informal English learning through conversational circles. Students build everyday language skills through practical and engaging activities.
Community Activities
We connect newcomers to a variety of community events and coordinate field trips to increase social connection and explore local community resources.
Youth Engagement
We engage newcomer youth aged 15–30 through interactive workshops, cultural exchanges, and community-based activities. The program helps youth build life and leadership skills, strengthen their sense of belonging, and form connections with peers and the wider community.
Fun Summer English for Children
We offer a three-week summer program designed for newcomer children aged 6-11, focusing on building language and creative writing skills. Through trauma-informed, activity-based sessions, children express their lived experiences and connect with peers.
Well-Being Navigation
We support newcomers, particularly refugees, facing multiple challenges with their health, navigate the healthcare system and access essential resources through personalized, trauma-informed guidance and group activities.
Peer Support for Newcomers
We facilitate group sessions where newcomers receive peer support, build social connections, and enhance well-being through culturally tailored activities led by experienced, multilingual volunteers.
Eligibility criteria
