The Support for Parents of Young Children (SPYC) program provides education and support for parents and caregivers of children 0-5 years old. This program offers support and parenting education based on the science of child development and attachment theory which will encourage the development of healthy families within the community. Our services also supports families with developing deeper connections within their community. 

One-to-One Support Services

Parents and caregivers are provided parenting education support and are connected to community resource based on the needs of the family. This service is offered in home, in the community or at the SPYC office.

Parenting Education and Support Groups

Nobody's Perfect Parenting Program

There are no perfect parents, perfect children or perfect people.

We can do our best, and we all need help once in a while.

  • Meet other parents of young children
  • Share questions, concerns and ideas about being a parent
  • Discuss real-life parenting situations
  • Work together with support of a trained facilitator
  • Discover positive ways of parenting

Eligibility criteria

For parents with children under 6 years old who are interested in improving their parenting techniques. Contact 604.583.3852.

Can you access the program directly?

Yes. Self referrals are welcome. Referrals are also accepted from various sources, including - but not limited to, other community or health professionals and community agencies.
